Economic Recovery Act
On February 18, 2009 the Office
of Management and Budget released Guidance (PDF)
to federal departments and agencies for implementing
the Recovery Act of 2009. The guidance suggests
that agencies and departments look at the AbilityOne
Program for procurement opportunities.
Specifically, page 40 of the Guidance states:
(7) Javits-Wagner-O’Day
Act (41 U.S.C. 46-48c) – AbilityOne
To maximize participation of Americans who are
blind or severely disabled in our economic recovery,
agencies must continue to purchase required goods
and services on the Procurement
List maintained
by the Committee for Purchase From People Who
Are Blind or Severely Disabled, which are produced
or provided by qualified nonprofit agencies employing
such individuals.
